Harlem Wizards vs Garden City Faculty

A packed Garden City High School gym was the setting as the popular Harlem Wizards took on members of the talented Garden City faculty in an entertaining basketball game on Saturday, February 6th. Fans and players alike had lots of fun and lots of laughs.

Garden City Scholarship Fund (GCSF) thanks all who supported the event, especially the teachers who devoted a Saturday afternoon to participate. Thank you also to the following administrators:  High School Principal, Mrs. Nan McLaughlin, Assistant Principals, Mr. Dave Perrotta and Mr. Kevin Steingruebner, as well as Athletic Director “Ref,” Mrs. Dawn Cerrone, and Stewart School Principal “Coach,” Ms. Linda Norton. GCSF offers a special thanks to John Parks of DJ Refreshments who donated the popcorn and pretzels, and to Joe Richter of SportsLoft who donated the faculty player T-shirts. Thank you to Sandy’s Party Supplies and Garden City Pizza who were also sponsors of the event.

The Garden City Scholarship Fund sponsors this annual fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will fund over $25,000 in annual grants awarded to deserving GCHS students. These awards include the Julia Maloney Scholarship, The Unsung Hero Award and Club Awards.

The Garden City Scholarship Fund is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the students of Garden City High School. GCSF is not funded by the Garden City School District and relies exclusively on community fundraising and endowments.
